Input

Input level is set before the selected transformation engine. Mono and stereo sources enter the same processing architecture.

Mode Engine

One of eight distinct DSP engines creates the transformed signal. The untouched input remains available separately for BLEND.

Blend

The dry and transformed signals crossfade continuously before the shared processors.

Choke

Compatible engines can use level control designed to keep unpredictable transformations from winning through volume alone.

Sat

An oversampled asymmetric saturation stage adds density, aggression, and harmonic weight after the selected engine.

Tone and Output

A parallel body processor adds weight before final output level and channel routing.

CHAINSAW transforms a signal through eight different engines covering pitch, fuzz, harmonic layering, ring modulation, frequency shifting, warble, Doppler movement, and the namesake dual-voice detuning mode. It is designed for everything from reinforcement and movement to complete signal destruction.

Every engine keeps its own parameter state. Adjust one mode, switch to another, then return and the first mode restores the settings you left behind. All eight states save with your preset and DAW project.

CHAINSAW's CPU use depends on the selected mode and how much pitch, frequency, modulation, and saturation processing is active. Simpler settings are lighter, while heavier dissonance and modulation modes use more processing. It uses pure DSP with no sample libraries, so RAM use is negligible.
