Eight Machines. One Pedal.

Choose an engine. Move its controls. Leave it. Come back. It remembers.
Shift

Seven musical pitch positions move the added voice from two octaves down to an octave and a semitone up.

Every Mode Remembers

Each engine keeps its own settings. Build a narrow CHAINSAW voice, switch to DOPPLER, set the movement, then return to CHAINSAW and find it exactly where you left it. All eight mode states save with the preset and the DAW project.

Four Processors Follow Every Machine

Choose the engine first. Then shape what leaves it.
Blend
Move continuously from the untouched input to the full transformed signal.
Choke
Controls unpredictable level jumps in the more violent engines so aggression does not become a volume trick.
Sat
Pushes the transformed signal into asymmetric saturation, from added edge to deliberate overload.
Tone
Adds saturated body beneath the effect without smearing the entire spectrum.

Factory Starting Points

Sixteen presets included. These are six of them.
Torque Drop
Shift
Two octaves down with saturation and enough weight to relocate the bottom of the signal.
Burnt Speaker
Fuzz
Bright, sputtering, and fully committed to collapse.
Goblin Machine
Ring Mod
Mechanical ring modulation with an engine-running metallic pulse.
Reality Shear
Freq Shift
Harmonic relationships move out of alignment and do not return.
Melted VHS
Warble
Slow magnetic deterioration with movement that feels damaged rather than modulated.
Chain Teeth
Chainsaw
Wide detuning, full aggression, and the namesake engine pushed into mechanical disassembly.

Plus ten more factory presets and unlimited user presets.

Inside the Signal Path

For the people who want the architecture.

01
Input
Input level is set before the selected transformation engine. Mono and stereo sources enter the same processing architecture.
02
Mode Engine
One of eight distinct DSP engines creates the transformed signal. The untouched input remains available separately for BLEND.
03
Blend
The dry and transformed signals crossfade continuously before the shared processors.
04
Choke
Compatible engines can use level control designed to keep unpredictable transformations from winning through volume alone.
05
Sat
An oversampled asymmetric saturation stage adds density, aggression, and harmonic weight after the selected engine.
06
Tone and Output
A parallel body processor adds weight before final output level and channel routing.

Questions

CHAINSAW transforms a signal through eight different engines covering pitch, fuzz, harmonic layering, ring modulation, frequency shifting, warble, Doppler movement, and the namesake dual-voice detuning mode. It is designed for everything from reinforcement and movement to complete signal destruction.
Every engine keeps its own parameter state. Adjust one mode, switch to another, then return and the first mode restores the settings you left behind. All eight states save with your preset and DAW project.
No. Choose a mode, move AMOUNT and VOICE, then shape the result with BLEND, CHOKE, SAT, and TONE. The technical reference is available for customers who want to know more, but it is not required to use the plugin.
64-bit VST3 for Windows, and Audio Unit (AU) + VST3 for macOS (64-bit). Compatible with DAWs that support these formats. No AAX, so it is not compatible with Pro Tools.
No. Windows and macOS are separate purchases. Each platform has its own checkout.
After purchase, you'll receive a license key by email. Each license is intended for one user and includes activation for up to 2 machines. If you change computers or need an activation reset, contact support and we'll help.
All digital purchases are final due to the nature of downloadable software. If you have an installation, compatibility, or activation issue, contact support and we'll help you get it working.
CHAINSAW's CPU use depends on the selected mode and how much pitch, frequency, modulation, and saturation processing is active. Simpler settings are lighter, while heavier dissonance and modulation modes use more processing. It uses pure DSP with no sample libraries, so RAM use is negligible.
Not currently. These plugins are launching with introductory pricing for a limited time, with regular pricing planned after the launch period.
